See people say China’s social currency scheme is dystopian and corrupt (and it no doubt is), but I feel like it would be good to have a a way to go after this sort of anti-social behavior that’s less extreme than towing the car or writing a big ticket.

Or maybe the mall cops could have tiny tow rigs attached to their golf carts and they  could move it to the far reaches of the parking lot.

We could just do Anti-Social Behavior Orders like they do in the UK, though it would just mean increasing the number of opportunities for unwelcomed police-public interaction, which is the opposite of what we’re trying to do. The more things you make illegal, the more criminals you have, and the more situations you create where cops have to go after people (though ASBOs are civil, not criminal, the ticket writing still falls on someone to do, and people don’t like getting tickets ).

Maybe just carry a piece of sidewalk chalk around and draw a funny, passive aggressive spot around the idiot’s car, and take a picture to shame them on social media?

I still think this is funny, the friendly exclamation point makes it for me.

I suspect that the drive is just completely clueless and not intentionally trying to block other people from parking next to them. I wouldn’t expect somebody to intentionally block other people and then leave the driver’s window half-way down.

I’m guessing that it’s somebody who thought they would only be there for a few minutes and just didn’t bother trying to park correctly. It’s still inexcusable, but it may be incompetence more than maliciousness.

We have a small parking lot but there was a guy who insisted on parking like a dick . He had an appointment one morning and was late, so someone in our office arranged for everyone to park like him and we took every spot. He had to street park, but he never parked like a dick in the lot again. Obviously wouldn’t work everywhere, but at least I — oops, someone — did his part to make the world a little better. lol

Could be - slant parking, and car is parked at an angle. This might be the best the driver could or cared to do, and it s still terrible

You know what we need? We need to make competitive precision parking more of a thing. People should WANT to park good. Give challenges like these more publicity, and encourage viewers to “try this at home”.
